WAR IN THE MARIANAS

Tonga Cave:

Tonga Cave is a cave located in Songsong Village, Rota. Over thousands of years, this cave was used for varying purposes. During World War II, it was used as a hospital by the Japanese military. The people who lived in Rota also used the cave as a place of refuge during typhoons before they had concrete houses.
